THE GROUP

Founded in 2003, the Scottish based A Cappella Vocal Quartet Vocal Fusion is hailed as one of the most exciting vocal ensembles in the UK.

Formed by four graduates of The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, the quartet has a wide and impressive concert history including The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The National Gallery of Scotland, The Royal Aboyne Festival, The Glasgow ‘Summerfest’ and an exclusive performance for JK Rowling at Stirling Castle for MSS Scotland. The ensemble has also been hugely successful at the Brechin and Pasilay Arts Festivals and given workshops in London and charity concerts for Leukaemia Research UK and Sargent Cancer Care UK.

The quartet has developed a special reputation for distinctly personal performances, as well as encompassing a wide variety of repertoire to suit all occasions and has received international recognition thanks to the world-renowned Baritone Sir Thomas Allen, who now supports the group as ‘Honorary Patron’.

Vocal Fusion has also received royal support from HRH The Prince of Wales who invited them to perform exclusively for a VIP Arts event at Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh.

The quartet is also very committed to the continuation of their charity concerts which have to date raised over £2000.00.

THE SINGERS

In 2008 Vocal Fusion passed into new hands as the original 2003 quartet had all graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) and found that with their many commitments it was impossible to give Vocal Fusion the time it deserved. The four new members Deborah Rudden, Catriona Morison, Alastair Caplin and Christopher Nairne are, like their predecessors when Vocal Fusion was founded, undergraduates at the RSAMD studying for Performance Degrees in Singing. The founder members Rowan Hellier, Louise Collett, Dominic Peckham and Douglas Nairne may have handed over the mantle of Vocal Fusion but they still take a keen interest in the progress of the group they founded.
